The new version v2.4 from Gibraltar is available since August 29, 2006. Gibraltar v2.4 comes with many new features and now also available preinstalled on several reliable hardware platforms. The new Gibraltar Security Gateways are offered with different performance data for network sizes up to several hundred computers. Due to permanent product enhancements during the last years, Gibraltar has been evolved from a pure Firewall to a powerful and reliable UTM appliance (universal threat management).

In detail the following features were implemented by version v2.4:

• New hardware platforms: The new Gibraltar Security Gateways are professional and high-performant hardware platforms, preinstalled with Gibraltar Software. Gibraltar Security Gateways convince with an excellent price/performance ratio and adequate performance.
• Monitoring and logging: Gibraltar offers many possibilities for the administrator to graphically monitor and analyse network traffic and the most important system parameters by an easy-to-use Web interface.
• Anonymisation Gateway: Gibraltar is one of the first products on the market supporting the anonymisation of the whole outgoing network traffic. So it is impossible for any third party to track back internet connections to your source. This feature protects privacy and prevents abuse of connection data, which are gathered from providers and unauthorised persons.
• High availability: Gibraltar can be operated redundant using two identical hardware appliances. In case of hardware failure, all open network connections are transferred to the hot standby appliance.
