Gibraltar is available in combination with several professional security appliances - the Gibraltar Security Gateways - and as a Software release. Gibraltar starts and runs on each hardware directly from CD-Rom, USB-Stick, compact flash or hard disk.

In each of our versions the whole range of features is the same. They are only limited through the quantity of the network devices, which are able to communicate with Gibraltar.
Antivirus
To use the antivirus features of Gibraltar, you have to license the option “Gibraltar Antivirus Gateway powered by Kaspersky”. For each version of Gibraltar there is a corrensponding antivirus license available, which includes the following components:
- SMTP antivirus gateway
- FTP antivirus gateway
- HTTP antivirus gateway
Webfilter
If you want to use Gibraltar as a web filter, you have to obtain a license of optional component "Gibraltar Webfilter powered by PureSight". This Gibraltar component is available in two versions:
- Gibraltar Webfilter Basic Edition: filtering of web sites by category
- Gibraltar Webfilter Enterprise Edition: filtering of web sites by category, restriction of web access by user group, details logging and reporting of web access.
